Born and raised in Manila from a place where everybody knows, UP Campus, Diliman. She basically had her firsts in UP where ignorance germinated into wisdom in the peyups way of life. Maria had her education starting from nursery to secondary in the campus. Graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the University of Santo Tomas in the year 1999. After college, Maria went back to UP and eventually pursued graduate studies taking up Masters of Arts in Education in the year 2000. During the start of that year, while studying, she worked as a researcher and a graduate assistant in the college. She had the opportunity to be the speaker and facilitator of various seminars and workshops in and out of the University. She was also part of a research that was done together with Dr. Leticia Penano- Ho, a former dean of the UP College of Education and a clinical psychologist. The research was entitled Benchmarking Project for Science and Technology sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology. Aside from that, she was also chosen to do the data gathering of a research about Gifted Children in the Philippines. This was also done together with Dr. Ho. The data gathering process was done in various gifted schools in Boston, MA, USA. Apart from all those researches, Maria also became a part of the administrative support committee of the college's International Conference for Teacher Education (ICTED). Starting from 2005 up to present, Maria came to relive her nursing career by teaching Medical Terminologies to medical transcriptionists, being a company nurse of McDonalds, Philippines and a staff nurse at the World Citi Medical Center and Medical City. While being a full time registered nurse of the Philippines, Maria continue to do researches and counseling to maximize her practice as a nurse- counselor. And as part of her practice and personal advocacies, the website came about.
